I think I have a disorder.
Temporomandibular Disorder. why do they have to call it a 'disorder'?! It makes it sound way-super-serious.
Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) occur as a result of problems with the
jaw, jaw joint and surrounding facial muscles that control chewing and moving
the jaw.
What Causes TMD?
The cause of TMD is not clear, but dentists believe that symptoms arise from
problems with the muscles of the jaw or with the parts of the joint itself.
Injury to the jaw, temporomandibular joint, or muscles of the head and neck
– such as from a heavy blow or whiplash – can cause TMD. Other possible causes
include:
- Grinding or clenching the teeth, which puts a lot of pressure on the
TMJ
- Dislocation of the soft cushion or disc between the ball and socket
- Presence of osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis in the TMJ
- Stress, which can cause a person to tighten facial and jaw muscles or
clench the teeth
What Are the Symptoms of TMD?
People with TMD can experience severe pain and discomfort that can be
temporary or last for many years. More women than men experience TMD and TMD is
seen most commonly in people between the ages of 20 and 40.
Common symptoms of TMD include:
- Pain or tenderness in the face, jaw joint area, neck and shoulders, and in
or around the ear when you chew, speak or open your mouth wide
- Limited ability to open the mouth very wide
- Jaws that get "stuck" or "lock" in the open- or
closed-mouth position
- Clicking, popping, or grating sounds in the jaw joint when opening or
closing the mouth (which may or may not be accompanied by pain)
- A tired feeling in the face
- Difficulty chewing or a sudden uncomfortable bite – as if the upper and
lower teeth are not fitting together properly
- Swelling on the side of the face
Other common symptoms include toothaches, headaches, neckaches, dizziness,
and earaches and hearing problems.

What can't be named Muhammad? "The Arabic name Muhammad is now the second most
popular name for baby boys in Britain, adding together its 14 different
spellings in English. Muslim families - of which there are an
increasing number in the UK - often choose names which honour the
Prophet or show a link to their religion in another way."

| For the longest time I thought that I was waiting on Him to give me an answer...but then I realized... He's waiting for me to change. | | |
| There's no way I'm going to pursue a PhD but sometimes it feels reallllly nice when my students call me "Professor" or "Professor Shim".
As I try finishing up my MA this year, I'm freaked out about what's going to come next. Where should I go? What should I do? Where will He lead me?
She will chase after her lovers but not catch them; she will look for them but not find them. Then she will say, 'I will go back to my husband as at first, for then I was better off than now.' ... "Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her. Hosea 2:7, 14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
I want to be more like You...I want more of your Word. feed me. break me. allure me. speak to me. what do You desire?
Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. "For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings. Hosea 6:3, 6
trust and obey. for there is no other way.

| The world of sense intrudes upon our attention day and night for the whole of our lifetime. It is clamorous, insistent and self-demonstrating. It does not appeal to our faith; it is here, assaulting our five senses, demanding to be accepted as real and final. But sin has so clouded the lenses of our hearts that we cannot see that other reality, the City of God, shining around us. The world of sense triumphs. The visible becomes the enemy of the invisible; the temporal, of the eternal. That is the curse inherited by every member of Adam’s tragic race. … As we begin to focus upon God, the things of the spirit will take shape before our inner eyes. Obedience to the word of Christ will bring an inward revelation of the Godhead (John 14:21-23). It will give acute perception enabling us to see God even as is promised to the pure in heart. A new God-consciousness will seize upon us and we shall begin to taste and hear an inwardly feel God, who is our life and our all. There will be seen the constant shining of “the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world” (John 1:9). More and more, as our faculties grow sharper and more sure, God will become to us the great All, and His presence the glory and wonder of our lives. … O God, quicken to life every power within me, that I may lay hold on eternal things. Open my eyes that I may see; give me acute spiritual perception; enable me to taste Thee and know that Thou art good. Make heaven more real to me than any earthly thing has ever been. Amen. A.W.
